Resurfacing Works – Stanley Street on-ramp, Pacific Motorway, Woolloongabba
Pavement repair and resurfacing works Stanley Street entry ramp Pacific Motorway, Woolloongabba
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) advises that pavement repair and resurfacing works will take place inbound on the Stanley Street entry ramp onto the Pacific Motorway, Woolloongabba.
These works are being undertaken as part of TMR’s maintenance program to improve the road surface and enhance road safety for all road users.
Work activities
- Removal and replacement of asphalt.
- Reinstatement of temporary line marking.
- Final line marking.
Timing
- Works are scheduled to commence mid-January 2025 and are expected to take approximately one week to complete, construction and weather conditions permitting.
- Typical construction hours will be from 10pm to 5am, Sunday to Thursday. Night works are required for road user safety and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network. While majority of the works will be undertaken at night, some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.
- While works are underway, access to the Pacific Motorway from the Stanley Street on ramp will be detoured between 10pm to 5am as follows:
- Traffic will be detoured via Allan Street onto Vulture Street then via Leopard Street onto the Pacific Motorway southbound.
- Traffic will then exit the motorway onto Juliette Street and use the Cornwall Street on ramp to access the Pacific Motorway northbound in the respective direction.
- Final line marking works to improve the reflectivity and longevity of the road will take place approximately six weeks after the completion of works to allow for adequate curing.
Expected impacts
- Changed traffic conditions: Temporary traffic detours, lane and road closures, temporary speed limit reductions and short-term traffic disruptions. Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
- Temporary construction noise: Nearby residents and businesses may experience short term increases in noise, dust, and odour during the works. Reversing beepers and flashing lights will be used on vehicles for safety.
On completion, TMR officers will continue to review the site for up to three months.
During this time TMR will assess the work undertaken for longevity and quality. In some cases, TMR may need to do further work at the location to rectify any defects.
Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.
TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
