Road Closure – School and Priestdale Roads, Rochedale
UPDATE
Works to install a watermain on School Road, scheduled to commence Saturday 9 September 2023, have now been postponed and the full road closure of School Road will not be proceeding on Saturday 9 September.
School Road vehicle turn-around facility
From Monday 11 September 2023, works will be undertaken on School Road, south of Priestdale Road, to construct a vehicle turn-around facility. Construction activities will be carried out between 6:30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, and are expected to take approximately one week to complete, subject to construction conditions and weather. As part of these works, pedestrian access will be maintained through the area, however there will be a short pedestrian detour around the work zone.
School Road and Priestdale Road intersection
As outlined in the below email, works remain on schedule to construct a new roundabout at the School Road and Priestdale Road intersection from 5am Saturday 16 September to 5pm Sunday 1 October 2023.

Please be advised of the following upcoming temporary traffic changes required to deliver Brisbane Metro depot works on School Road and Priestdale Road, Rochedale.
Saturday 9 September 2023, 5am-5pm
- A temporary full road closure will be in place to allow for critical watermain works.
5am Saturday 16 September to 5pm Sunday 1 October 2023
- A temporary full road closure will be in place to allow for construction of a new roundabout at the School Road and Priestdale Road intersection.
During the above closures, local residents will have access to their driveways from the northern end of School Road at all times. There will be no access from Priestdale Road and residents exiting their properties on School Road will be restricted to right-turn only during the closure.
Traffic control will be in place during work hours to guide pedestrians and general traffic movements. Motorists will be advised to plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
We appreciate that these traffic changes will have some impact on the local road network and Brisbane City Council appreciates the cooperation of the local community while these important works are completed.
