
Duplicate Lanes Project – Cleveland-Redland Bay Road
Site investigation works, Cleveland-Redland Bay Road, Anita Street to Giles Road, duplicate lanes project
The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will undertake site investigation works along Cleveland-Redland Bay Road from late January 2025 to late February 2025.
These works are part of the planning for the Cleveland-Redland Bay Road, Anita Street to Giles Road, duplicate lanes project. The lane duplication project will help improve traffic flow, safety and active transport connections for people living in Redland Bay.
Work activities
- Minor drilling and excavation.
- Reinstatement of surfaces after work has taken place.
Timing
- Works will commence late January 2025 and be completed in late February 2025, construction and weather conditions permitting.
- Typical construction hours will be 7pm to 5am Sunday to Thursday.
- Night works are required for road user safety, and to avoid what would otherwise be traffic queuing and disruption to the road network.
- The majority of the works will be undertaken at night, some daytime works between 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday, may be required.
Expected impacts
Motorists
- Traffic changes will be in effect, including road shoulder closures, temporary lane closures with traffic control, changes to traffic flow, temporary speed reductions and short-term traffic disruptions.
- Please follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
Residents and businesses
- Nearby residents and businesses may experience short term impacts including increased noise during the works.
- Access to private properties and business will be maintained during the works.
- Reversing beepers and flashing lights are a safety requirement and will be used at all times during the working hours.
Pedestrians and bike riders
- Temporary diversions to the pathways may be in place during the works. Please follow traffic control in place.
Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.
