Pavement Resurfacing Works – Moggill Road, Pinjarra Hills/Bellbowrie

Pavement repair and resurfacing works – Moggill Road, Pinjarra Hills and Bellbowrie
Works update notification: November 2024

The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) would like to provide an update regarding the pavement repair and resurfacing works on Moggill Road, Bellbowrie and Pinjarra Hills.

TMR will return and complete the remaining pavement repair and resurfacing works, in both directions on Moggill Road between Sugars Road and Lowan Street in early November 2024.

In addition to these remaining works, asphalt rectification will take place southbound on Moggill Road between Pinjarra Road and Lather Road as well as shoulder edge repair in various locations along Moggill Road. This will be followed by the final line marking.

These works are being undertaken as part of TMR’s maintenance program to improve the road surface and enhance road safety for all road users.

Work activities

  • Removal and replacement of asphalt.
  • Asphalt rectification.
  • Shoulder edge repair.
  • Reinstatement of temporary line marking.
  • Final line marking.

Timing

  • Works are scheduled to take place in early November 2024 and are expected to take approximately two weeks to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting.
  • Typical construction hours will be from 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday. Night works are required for road user safety and to avoid what would otherwise be extensive traffic queuing and disruption to the road network. While the majority of the works will be undertaken at night, some Saturday or other out of hours works may be required.
  • Final line marking works to improve the reflectivity and longevity of the road line marking will be applied approximately six weeks after the completion of road resurfacing to allow for adequate curing.

Expected impacts

  • Temporary changed traffic conditions: Road shoulder and lane closures, roadworks speed limit reductions and short-term traffic disruptions. Please allow extra time when planning your travel and follow the directions of roadside signage and traffic controllers.
  • Temporary construction noise: Nearby residents and businesses may experience a short term increase in noise, dust, and odour during the works. Reversing beepers and flashing lights will be used on vehicles for safety.

On completion, TMR officers will continue to review the site for up to three months. During this time TMR will assess the work undertaken for longevity and quality. In some cases, TMR may need to request further work at the location to rectify any defects.

Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on the local community and surrounds.

TMR appreciates your patience and cooperation while these important works are carried out.
